I know it makes me sound like a pussy but this made me feel sick (not from the imagery but the cruelty and sadness). Not my first time seeing this type of comic involving these things either but damn this is the worst one I’ve seen so far. its a paradox. Trying to make a good story with care onto yukkuris often involves yukkuris developing ILL if not MALICIOUS habits. Failing to address the problem would only render the story powerless as there is no longer the reason driving you to love them. You defend the undefendable, you love something forever damned to arrogance and ignorance.
Otherwise you make the yukkuris in your story incorruptible, lovely and sophiscated, that does not negate the fact, that just evades.
Or you render the human master EQUALLY SHITHEAD to yukkuris, then why would you tell such a story?

Why would someone make a depressing piece like this?

Turn to the 4th page, and there's your answer. These little shitbags live with the belief that the world (including humans) owes them everything, and thus would invade upon human properties, claiming that "humans are hogging up all the easy places [houses, residences] and food that should pop into existence naturally [for yukkuris to enjoy]". And demanding passerby humans supplying them with sweets as in p4 is just one of the things that they consider obvious - because the world bears the responsibility to please the yukkuris, in their view at least.
