Really enjoyed this one. I won't pretend the plot makes a ton of sense, but I think the idea is that he felt complacent about his position as being an honor student who was allowed to fuck the princesses and didn't even imagine that he could become one. They probably don't care too much for exactly following the rules since there are only one to two princesses each year, but Shirayuki was recommended to become a princess, thus sealing his fate.
This kind of reminded me of the anime Princess Princess, which made me happy. In addition to the girlfriend being into his new body, the story felt almost wholesome in a way. Hope more of this artist's works get translated in the future.
