There wasn't a huge scandal or anything of the sort, only a tragic accident. But then she reveals on page 47 the ugly thoughts she had when she saw the girl her husband saved. Grief fucking sucks.

I don't really get the appeal of debbie downer shit like this. The art is great but it's like 60 pages of terrible sex until she enjoys it or stops pretending. I can see the emotional angle of the sappy build up and the "betrayal" aspect of her giving in eventually and "tainting" her memories of the husband but it feels kinda weak. If the husband is already dead I just genuinely don't see why anyone should care unless the playboy had something to do with it. I guess you really have to connect with her character during the build up for the conflict to have any impact.

So I don't know if the translation is the issue or the author is just being a bad writer but I'm genuinely confused on the whole point of this story.
Every single bad thing, every time she struggles or has an issue that affects her deeply has no real reason to justify her actions or in fact it has no reason to impact her this much, it feels like she's on trip on rails downward but it's fucking retarded it's ridiculous.
Maybe just maybe I could understand if depression is involved or just grieving gone wrong but there's no an actual explanation for her leaps of logic other than forced shit.

So she needs money and the she immediately decides to whore herself because why the fuck not? Background says she's a teacher so I'm the assumption she's someone smarter than the average NTR heroine but her train of thought it's just stupid. She seems extremely bothered by this that every single sex scene before she cranks up her slut'o meter is straight up boring and yet she doesn't jack shit. I think I can explain a little bit, also I'm only going off the provided translation, I honestly don't know if the translations are good but I'm leaning that they are because I haven't seen any complaints, or not that many, about his translations.

The thing that makes it make sense for me is that she hates herself. She hates the person shes become. Before the prostitution, If you start with the flashback(s) first, you see that she was a good teacher. She loved the job and still respects it. She probably fell in love with her first husband because he shared the same ideals about teaching. They're the representation on what good teachers are. Someone who really care about kids and want to teach them to be proper adults. Then the accident happened. Her husband died doing the right thing, sacrificing himself for another student. A noble thing to do and something that should be celebrated. But that provides little comfort to a grieving widow. She lost the love of her life. And the person who caused this was at the funeral. Then a thought came into her mind. A thought that was unthinkable before the accident, but grief can makes us think of crazy things. She seriously thought about killing her. An innocent student. It was at that moment she knew she no longer was the same person she was before. She became something filthy (page 26 and 27 where she says shes warped). Someone who doesn't deserve to be a teacher.

It's why she accepts being a prostitute. On some level, she believes she deserves it (page 13 where she says she can't go back anymore). She hates it, and honestly who wouldn't, but eh it pays the bills. Now shes only a mother and she needs the money. Teaching again is out of the question.

Then she meets the opposite of Nobu again. Yorita is the complete opposite of her husband. A legitimate terrible teacher. Someone who takes advantage of students and wouldn't risk his life for them. But for her, at that moment, hes there. Hes there for her. And hes making her feel something other than disgust and grief. That's where the perceived betrayal the author is trying to convey. That something other than her husband/ideal is making her happy again. In fact, the person is someone the husband hated.

I don't really see this as netorare myself. She doesn't fall for him. She only sees Yorita, at best, as a sex friend. They will never be able to understand one another. The flashback at the end, having it juxtaposed with the sex scene may show the memory as being tainted. But to me it just shows how much she has lost. Who she used to be. She was truly happy back than, before the accident. She just wants to feel something. Something other than the pressure in being a single mother and a grieving widow. Or a terrible person who deserves to be a prostitute. She wants to just be happy again.
