I made sure to check every word's definition in several dictionary sites and made sure it's coherent to the original work. but if there's anything I need to change, please feel free to tell me and I'll verify and change it.I also get help from the guys at discord.gg/9D3HnZjzus
8-14-2024: Changed text color as suggested. Made it more subtle.
Notes: the boy uses オレ when he refers to himself (including after he gets remodelled) which is quite masculine. He also speaks in a masculine sort of way (other than when he's on the basic personality).
p2 モノ thing/property. I thought property was better contextually.
p3 581-san says that behind the bunny ears on the phone, it says 素体再現人格 (Base Body Reproduction Personality) and 基本人格 (Basic Personality) while the latter is selected. I tried finding a way to put the latter in the image, but the ears would cover up the words. The words are covered up in the Japanese as well.
ぐちゃぐちゃ sloppy/mess. I used both because it felt better.
part 3 p9 (part3 page 2) Unlike the first character, who uses ore (オレ) even after he is converted, the second character changes from ore (オレ) to watashi (私). It was suggested to color it because the change doesn't translate well to english. I got permission to do so as well. I thought it'd be a nice touch to use the character's eye color.
@VermillionFox16 I respect the attempt to retain the significance of male and female pronouns. But unfortunately, we just don't have gendered first person pronouns in English and so there's no way to really carry over that significance with the pronouns specifically.
It SORT of works? Text going from blue to pink kinda gets that idea across regardless, but doing it with the first person pronoun specifically just comes across as kind of arbitrary when you're doing it in english.
I think a much more effective way to communicate what you're trying to get across in English would be to have ALL of the characters text start out blue, and have it swap back and forth from blue to pink to show that the female personality is taking over his mind.
@Red225 No clue. I think that due to western payment processors, skeb put a whole bunch of 581-san's requests in hidden, so I can't see the original request.
@The Goat is Watching I agree with you, however, I don't want to overstep my bounds. I'd like to keep it how 581-san has it as much as possible. 581-san has done a similar type of typesetting before (converting from human to robot), but not here for a change in gender. I don't want to change too much from the original but I'll give it an ask though. edit: I got the go ahead. I'll see if it's better to make the colors more subtle. That way it's not too different from the original. I also think that it's best to leave the right most bubble in page 8 uncolored since he's still entirely human there and the second top left one in page 9 is a different person, so i'll leave that unchanged too.
