One thing I noticed about this series is in the later volume you can't even see bare boobs anymore. Publisher change, perhaps?

It never changed publisher. It seems this was original on Men's YOUNG magazine (Futaba). Then was moved to Action Pizazz (also Futaba) when MY's died.

charlie nishinaka got heart surgery in 2019. According to twitter still in rehabilitation right now but still helping and attending comiket with circle friends. That is why cheers suddenly stopped appearing in pizazz. Most likely trying to evade any stress related job and just rehabilitating right now.
