There are artist out there such as Hal(Tanya) and Mitarashi Kousei(Akiko) who draw characters that are old by anime standards. YD is clearly a massive fan of the Idolmaster series. So long as the artwork is decent, fans will follow them. I don't think there is anything wrong with a author choosing to draw what they want to draw.

FGO fans' harassment prevented YD from drawing for FGO again.

Do not pretend YD is still making FGO fan art. He last contributed to that series three to four years ago. Say what you will about Blue Archive, but some artists depict many figures from Blue Archive. The fact that YD keeps drawing the same fucking character is my primary critique. Many people have lost interest in his work due to the repetition. I hate to repeat myself, but his book has not been uploaded or poorly scanned yet, showing that people are not interested in his Madoka work anymore. No matter how wonderful the art, people do not care anymore. This decline is depressing.

I'll still stop by now and then, but this guy's glory days are behind him. He's just churning out a stale franchise with washed characters. He's lost touch.

No, YD didn't sell out his books in around 3 hours—that's a lie. It took five and a half hours. I can even check OM's Twitter account to confirm it, so stop pretending. His stuff hasn't even sold out on Melonbooks yet. Enough of the cap.

He does have a large online female reader base, which is probably where they're getting that idea from, especially since it was mentioned on DCInside as well.

After reading the new book, I don't think I would want YD to work on anything else other than Madoka. This is probably the best one so far. IMO probably better than the first Madoka doujin, Musou Diary, and I'm excited to see more.
