I like how this work portrays the protag's late stage coomer brain. He has baggage from his first crush, but the only way he can deal with it is to either avoid it or use it as fuel for a (real) sex fantasy. To cope with the baggage, he wants to assure himself that there was and will never be a chance for her to love him. That's why he finds it hot for her toggle into sexbot mode. Sexbot mode is proof that she's gone forever, that it's useless to ruminate on what-if or what-could-be. This cope is so strong that it's sad. When Iroha has a malfunction (likely staged [1]) and declares her love out loud, it does not occur to him to think of ways to keep her [2]. Instead, he retreats into the role of good salaryman who's proud of shipping a quality product. It actually took a clumsy intervention from HR to get the covert plot back on track.

[1] I think he had no chance at all with the real Iroha, and that the emulated personality is altered to love him. But since the protag isn't savvy enough to suspect he's being manipulated, he SHOULD have changed his views as soon as he was presented with new evidence. This is all happening in the moment, though, so maybe this kind of reflection would've happened over time.
