Take the 1280x Chinese RAW: https://files.catbox.moe/3y1ka1.jpg

It'll return https://files.catbox.moe/kpvuvn.jpg which is the exact same as /s/a1deee4ac6/3062776-27 minus the watermark the uploader cut out.

Did these people rate it witout reading or are they just that bad at english so they didn't pick up the obviously bad dialogue.

Hmm...that's true, but you shouldn't say it lmao.

I'll be upfront about this, and I know it might sound like yapping coming from me, given my reputation on this site, which some people (looking at the childish teenage bitches, like head empty) might not find reliable. But I feel like we're going to see more creators moving away from parodies and focusing on original content. The reason I say this is because of recent developments, such as several works being picked up by publishers like Wani Magazine and getting licensed by companies like Fakku and Irodori. What really grabbed my attention was the top 100 ranking on Melon Books for C104—it was surprising. While there were still a lot of parody works, the majority were original, and this trend seems to be growing.

I think the shift is happening because parody creators aren’t making much money, especially since a lot of people don’t value their work and think it’s just gooner content they can pirate. Many don’t realize these artists are independent and not backed by big companies. When their income is affected, they have to adapt, and that’s why we’re seeing more original works. Parodies won’t completely disappear, but they likely won’t dominate like before, since creators need to make a living. The pandemic exposed this, with many artists not getting the returns they expected due to rampant piracy, especially outside Japan.

Now, we're seeing an almost even split between parody and original works, and that gap may continue to widen. There will always be creators sticking with parody, but I have a feeling that many of the top names, like Danimaru, Linda, and ED, will shift more towards original content. For example, Dani’s latest original work ranked in the top five and made her a lot of money because it wasn’t a parody, and being licensed made it harder to pirate.

It seems like artists are figuring out how to protect their income and are gaining more respect from those who appreciate their craft, such as myself. This shouldn’t be dismissed as just "gooner" material. Many people take this profession and culture seriously, and because of that, I think we’re going to see some significant changes soon. That top 100 list really opened my eyes to this shift.

Whether you like it or not, I'm just going to point out the obvious elephant in the room. Fakku and Irodori are professionals with strong connections to independent artists and companies in Japan, like Wani Magazine. They're not going anywhere anytime soon, and they're going to secure a lot of original content, especially since licensing parody works can be tricky, depending on the type of parody. People on this site who enjoy translating are going to need to step up because Fakku and Irodori have a firm hold on Japanese artists seeking profit. No other translation group will give them the kind of exposure they can provide, regardless of how vast you think the internet is.

People are going to keep pirating their content, and eventually, they'll realize where all the money is going since it's not ending up in their pockets or bank accounts.

I usually support piracy, but this isn't the right situation, especially when you're stealing from individuals who aren't backed by big corporate entities.

The shit ain't free.

So @blakkbarrel is correct and no amount of circlejerking like redditors is going to change that lol.

Then Fakku and Irodori have to reduce their pricing.
You can't spend that much money for porn, while spending a lot more for other expenses. Their price policy sucks hard.
Buying everything would make people broke in no time. Niche projects don't have a big audience. It's not piracy that damages them, it's the overall less demand that is responsible and the ridiculousl price request. If anything, pircay may improve the possibility to buy such niche projects.
Poeple who don't hear about niche projects, or struggle to be able to buy it due to the high price, would not buy it anyway. With piracy however, they reach a bigger audience with a better chance to find people who would spend the money. Those who don't are not losses, because they wouldn't buy it without piracy either, since you wouldn't be able to reach them out in the first place.

RapidBlast: Fakku subscriber here, their pricing is pretty reasonable IMHO. Same with Irodori's. The MTL problem isn't because of them. Only problems I can see are the fact that Fakku only seems to care about the North American market (IIRC they don't take currency other than USD but I might be wrong; I don't know if their subscription is available to, say Europeans) and Irodori being super aggressive about DMCAs.

odschierke: Wani doesn't publish doujinshi, though. They're a magazine publisher. Irodori and J18 are the ones signing deals with individual artists for their original works; 2D-market seems to be handling the parody side of things. That said, you aren't wrong about artists who don't want their shit pirated seemingly signing up with Irodori.

It used to be a way to bypass the dumb Panda's cuck tendencies of sucking DMCA dick but now this shit is the new reality I have to face and I would rather this site just die, forcing a new better alternative to take its place with larger balls. Fuck if I care if the ancient shit is deleted here since its probably archived somewhere that 1 or 2 people care about.

Well, I get the point. Then again, it's not this site that sucks, it's rather the management.
They seem to not care about this MTL shitters and allow them to upload anything.

Panda has several problems at that point, I agree. The very first is that their servers are hosted in the US where DMCA has power, thus the removal requests are always successful.
Careless management as mentioned above. If these weren't the case, this site would work quite better.

Getting along to alternate sites, it's not that easy. This site has a long history, and a new site wouldn't be able create the same that easily.
When anchira was taken down and koharu took over, that site now has established even more fucktarded rules. Watermarked and downsampled garbage for anybody who's not an uploader (doesn't make even any sense), just like other fucked up scraper sites, but in a different way.

Hentai Manga is already a niche product among porn, at least in the west, so it's hard to get someone to involve enough energy and money to create a good pirate site that could even surpass panda.
Let's say panda dies today, you would be without H-Manga porn and/or satisfy yourself with fucked up scrapers, for a long time after that. So be careful what you wish.

Edit:
The MTL shitters kind of breaking out here is just an annoyance. To some degree they also reduce chances for a proper translation, but not that much. A proper solution to get rid of them is to implement a function that allows users to expunge MTL flagged content. For this to happen, we need a more caring management first.

Without e-hentai they would be nothing, they ARE nothing. This site is where new content is born.

Also, those scrapper site are living on borrowed time having those copyrighted work. Sooner or later, probably sooner given ***** is already been sued in court

Literally the biggest problem of this site is tolerating MTL. Just adding a a function to allow users to expunge/remove MTL works from this site will solve the problem

Also, I thought this site was hosted on Moldova or some other Eastern European country?

blakkbarrel: you REALLY don't know what you're talking about. NH has been DMCA'ed several times and rarely responds to them (which is part of why J-List is going after them). There's content on here that is no longer on NH. Let me give you an example: ever heard of Homunculus? He's been called a god of vanilla, but he also did some Bakemonogatari books early on. Those books are not on NH anymore because they were taken down in error by NH (they're not licensed by anyone); they're still visible on here. That's why NH has less content overall than Panda.

Fofotron: that's the impression I was under as well.

The domain is registered in Arizona, USA, and the IP it is pointing to is hosted in San Francisco, USA.
Simple lookup, didn't do research. The IPs might be just proxies though, can't tell where their NAT terminates. However, the fact that Panda reacts to DMCA takedowns means that they're definitely in a region where they can get in trouble if they ignore the takedown requests.

Pirate sites that I know, who simply ignore DMCA takedowns since ages thus never losing their content, are usually hosted in countries where DMCA and American or European lawsuit companies in general can't do shit about it, like South African and South American regions. Some regions in Asia also work well.

Here I go again — I feel like I’m constantly repeating myself, but I’m explaining basic Japanese copyright laws one more time for those who may not understand. I get that many of you might not even read this since you're likely Redditors, Kotaku in Action followers, Rev Says Desu fans, or Kiwifarms users. Basically assholes who can't read for shit lmao

It's frustrating that I even need to explain ways to navigate around copyright laws that don’t work well either, but here we are.

Honestly, I’m just counting down the days until I can disconnect from the internet entirely and enjoy Dandadan in peace. Right now, the quality of hentai ero-doujinshi is pretty disappointing unless it’s from Blue Archive or YD.

So, once again:

The Japanese Copyright Law:

1. Anime and Manga are owned by big corporations. Large companies own all the rights to anime and manga, so you can’t use their content without permission.

2. Some fan creations can be illegal, but companies don’t always care. Fan art and fan-made comics are technically not allowed, but companies tend to overlook them if:

You’re not making significant money.

You aren’t damaging their characters’ image.

You keep things low-profile.

3. Avoid getting too popular or making money. If your fan work gains too much attention or starts generating profit, companies may come after you.

4. Illegal subs or pirated manga are a big no. Sharing unlicensed anime or manga is a major violation. Companies will shut it down and could sue you.

5. The companies control everything. They have the authority to act as they see fit. If they dislike what you’re doing, they’ll make sure to remove it.

Regarding copyright and websites:

1. Changing your website URL doesn’t hide you. Even if you change your site’s URL, people can still track you down.

2. Copyright laws apply globally. Moving your site to another country won’t protect you from copyright enforcement.

3. Website hosts have to follow the rules. The platforms hosting your website can also get into trouble, and they might take down your site to protect themselves.

4. You can still face consequences. No matter where you move or how you change your site, companies can still find you and take legal action.

In short, changing your site’s name or location won’t keep you safe. You’ll still be caught.

That’s it. I’m done. You’re all impossible to talk to. Losers.

Well, you missed the point that the "law" you're talking about is mere civil law, and not public law. Have fun enforcing those laws in countries like Seychelles or Madagascar, who btw. have their own definitions of civil laws that most certainly won't match with those of Japan, or US.

As a company, you're pretty much fucked regarding piracy in those countries, so you take the loss. But you're not in Europe and USA, which is why they focus on those regions instead.

Okay, so you're saying things in a way that isn’t completely true. You’re making it sound too simple, but it's more complicated than that. Let me explain.

1. When you talk about laws, you’re saying it’s hard to use it in other countries. But that's not totally right. Countries have special agreements that help people work together to make sure laws can still be enforced, even when the rules are different.

2. You mentioned countries like Seychelles and Madagascar as if it would be impossible to enforce laws there. It might be harder, sure, but they still have agreements with other countries to help each other out. It’s not as bad as you're making it sound.

3. The way you said, ‘have fun enforcing those laws,’ makes it seem like it would never work. But actually, there are systems in place that make it possible, even if it's not always easy.

So, what you're saying isn’t totally accurate. It sounds like you're making it worse than it really is, ignoring the ways that countries work together to solve these kinds of problems.

Stop distorting the logic.

To the rest of you who downvote me like Reddit users:
It's honestly a real fucking shame that too many people want to take advantage of hentai artists just because it's "gooner" content. Too many people are truly evil. Eventually, a lot of these artists will be signed under these publications, and it'll be something to see. There won't be anything you can do about it because, in the end, it's all about the money. Just pay them what they deserve.

You can try to twist the reasoning behind wanting to steal from people who are genuinely struggling financially. They aren't living large like you might think, but go ahead and do whatever you want. Just keep being worthless, low-life thieves, taking from those who actually deserve the money. You will get your karma soon enough.

odschierke: serious question: has there EVER been an instance of a given doujinshi artist being shut down by a publisher? Only one that really comes to mind would be when the publishers of Ellen Baker's books (I forget the name ATM) told artists to knock it off with the hentai (which which didn't really work), but that was targeted at the fan art community as a whole, rather than just one person or circle, plus I don't recall ever hearing about any R18 books featuring her. I'm not counting the Yakuza telling Uma Musume artists to stop with the hentai because the Yakuza isn't a publisher.

@DJ_Puchuu

If you're interested in complex copyright scenarios, take a look at the ones surrounding Neon Genesis Evangelion, Bandori, and Frieren. The copyright issues with these series became so complicated that many Japanese creators in Japan stopped producing ero-doujinshi for them. While a few people overseas continue to do so, the confusing and poorly communicated regulations discouraged many others from continuing.

I'm also fed up with all the speculation about the Yakuza. Let me be clear: the modern Yakuza is as insignificant as the present-day Italian or Mexican Mafia. If they were as powerful as some people imagine, the Yakuza games wouldn’t even exist—especially with a pirate-themed parody game coming out next year. They probably even love that shit too lol.

Regarding UmaMusu, the main issue involves copyright disputes with the horse owners, who are real people. CyGames has strong ties with them because the horses featured in the game are actual, famous racehorses in Japan. They're trying to avoid lawsuits from Japan's judicial system, especially since Japan’s prosecutors have an 80% to 90% conviction rate. Nobody wants to end up in the penitentiary over some anime horse girl hentai pussy nonsense, so stop distorting the actual concerns about the franchise’s copyright laws.
