yep and its also called law suit which can happen if they use the real name. Does it always happen no, but it can which is why in most parody the name is changed

Well, these are obviously Kate Gosselin, Gary Coleman and Pamela Anderson. But why Smudge decided to use parody names for this particular comic is a mystery: he hasn't bothered before or since.
