Reading Natsuko has been so surreal for me because I'm so used to reading Yuriko Chiba's antics.

Vol 1-3 for the most part had the typical Ozaki Akira comedy but I'm constantly taken back by how "normal" the work environment is. Like the crew constantly try to exploit Natsuko and Misako, but Natsuko is largely against it and Fukuyama even threatened to leave in the last volume if Natsuko wore the see through outfit.

Chapter 2 of this volume feels like where Ozaki Akira got the start of the lewd news shows where Misako had a clothing malfunction and they started kneading her breasts on live TV. The other thing is how stereotypically modest the ladies are, mostly Misako where she's just not cheating (of course typing this up before the entire TL is released so don't know if that will change).

Now fast forward to Ozaki Akira's newest titles where Yuriko Chiba literally appears naked from the start and even Misako was doing sex shows on TV and even participating in cheating orgies.

The thing I love the most is how all of these books are connected in some way and we're seeing that slow ascent from a News TV drama for adults to what we have now. I'm still amazed this is the same Misako here that appears in later works.

As a sidenote: from what I can tell by skimming what's left of vol.4, Misako doesn't seem to cheat on this one, but that doesn't change the fact that from this point on she's established as an absolute airhead that bucks under the softest peer pressure (which "director-san" definitely abuses).

Yup definitely seen that a lot with her in Momoiro Company where she often comes within inches of getting penetrated by other guys before her sister steps in and saves her haha

Out of curiosity, what are we missing in the timeline that has yet to be translated? I see a good few other Ozaki Akira works from before Natsuko, and two after this but between Momoiro Company. Are those related to the stories here in any way?

I don't have a complete chronology of his works, so I can't really say one way or the other.
There's one that happens in/around a school, so I'm thinking that one might not have to do with his "connected universe" of characters. There's another that seems to be pretty fantasy inspired. And the last one that I know of seems to be more like a shonen with some super softcore sex than anything else.
The problem with several of these, is that the raws are pretty rough. I'll have to make a couple of tests over them to see if I can get them to a decent state, but that will happen once I finish translating and uploading saya-sensei (his newest work) after I finish this volume.

Chapter 9 - Oh wow, a lot of foundation establishing stuff here. Hitomi and baseball dude that has ED, and Misako quitting both playing out in Momoiro Company. I feel like Momoiro Company basically is a continuation of this without Natsume and Fukuyama. Well at any rate, one more chapter, right? Looking forward to it. Thanks for your hard work as usual.
