The further the story strays from the main couple, the worse it gets. Jin repeats that mistake in all of his works, the black general manga became absolute, non sequitur garbage when he went off and wrote a bunch of bullshit side plots with secondary characters nobody cares for.

Burnout is burnout. I mean, four bite-sized books in a decade aren't much, but if he admits he lacks good ideas the endless parade of side characters is a way to tread water. Some people like Amahara have an almost inhuman knack at creating decent comedy with one-off characters, others simply fail.

I do admit the plot here is almost senseless and there are essentially no jokes.
