The MO for people who find themselves caught up in those kinds of incredibly hateful and negative extreme Right subgroups is “repress, project, deny.”

When some of said people do eventually find themselves in a healthier place, they realize that hatred against women was projection from somewhere they were afraid to look before.
Kinda like how just about *all* of the most hateful anti-gay politicians are eventually caught fucking a dude in a bathroom- it’s much easier to hate yourself than to hate others, and self-hatred is so much more extreme than your run-of-the-mill hate when it’s redirected outwards.
