Why is it so common for western "fans" of Dungeon Meshi to claim that Marcille is gay ? Not only we see her ideal partner (a male elf) in the manga, but the author literally tells us that her and Falin are just friends through relationship charts.

Problem is, right now "fandoms" are more relevant is duscussing media online, and i assume that some people begin watching the show because of the "cute lesbians" the fandom was headcanoning Marcille and Fallin, thus why a lot of people get prickly when the fandom interpretation of a character is different.

I think this is stupid, moreso in fan works like this one, because the OP can do whatever the fuck they want.
