would someone please tell us the gist of this volume? been following the english translation from volume 4, but would very much like to know the background of the series.

I assume: the bearded guy is suzune's dad's old colleague, and the frog is suzune's dad's gift to suzune, which could extract parasites.

my questions:
who is that long, dark-haired guy and what does he want out of suzune? (since he beat her before)
What was the girl with the whip doing to suzune? and what was happening there? (since suzune suddenly came and passed out)
what did the girl in kimono say? (At this point, i'm just assuming that she's the "bad guy's" messenger / assistant)
