In history of theatre drama, there are a LOT of play that has the central issue remain unsolved, where the main character suffer without any sort of solution in order to highlight such issue such as War, communism, witch hunt, etc.
Playwright like Bertolt Brecht, Eugène Ionesco, Arthur Miller,etc. are most notorious for their plays that try to teach issues, and doesn't offer a happy end

Doubt anyone will read this or not, but I get off on something/someone else's suffering. It's a mental condition I can't get over the same way a serial killer doesn't get over killing.
