Some parts of the doujin do not need to be cleaned because that is part of the "personality" of the doujin. For example, reproduction by the printer of the artist's smudges on the paper should not be cleaned, yet I have noticed on a few OTHER doujinshi that the artist's smudges were "cleaned". To me, that is overly sterile and we lose each artistic work's individual personality if stuff like this is cleaned.
