A recolor? Does this count in any way as original?

I think "recolors" are good to a point, if the characters facial expression changes that is cool, or if it a total recolor of the character (Light skin to dark skin, red outfit to black outfit), but these recolors are really not needed. They don't add to the experience of the art.
