@AircraftofWW2PM: Thanks for the tip, I ended up getting the program called "AwesomePhotoFinder", it's pretty much free and does exactly what you said, although it is about 2-3 years old, but it works perfectly on Win7.
If you have problems sorting duplicates, then I'd recommend getting an image duplicate detector. There are some freeware stuff out there such as Dup Detector and Duplicate Image Finder. Try several until you find one that fits your taste. For me the minimum requirements are that they show pixel-size and byte-size of the compared images, thumb-nails large enough that you can usually spot minor differences and an ability to specify whether you want a 100% match or near match. It also helps if it's fast for those of us that have built up big collections over the years.
