It's definitely a breath of fresh air when it comes to Kuja's softer side, which contrasts heavily with his usual narcissism. Though I'm not entirely aware of the overarching story behind this, having never actually played FF9, I'm fairly sure Kuja doesn't normally show much emotional vulnerability, and in seeing him do so here is what makes this doujin a simply enjoyable work.
