As a cultural note, Foei gras is the act of fattening an animal so its liver becomes particularly fatty. Usually they fasten the goose or duck tightly so it cannot move and forcefeed it until it becomes morbidly obese, then kill it.

It is a delicacy and a debate issue on the ethical treatment of animals.
