@antikv - I think you're underestimating exactly how widespread and powerful a fetish MC is. There are western artists who apparently makes decent money with comparable or worse art than this.
The story is also important, of course. Bland or sub-par art can easily be made up for with a great story and/or dialogue. I wish I read Japanese.
"I think you're underestimating exactly how widespread and powerful a fetish MC is."
Too true. The only reason it isn't even more widespread and more...known about, is because most people can't admit to themselves that they enjoy it. XD
If you look through history, it's one of the most ancient sexual fascinations, if not outright fetishes, in the realm of humans. Think of how much mythology for various cultures, for example, involved manipulation of love, lust, and/or the mind itself. Hell, Zeus in Greek mythology was said to have the ability to bed any mortal woman through some mysterious way, the damned playboy of a God he was. Moving away from mythology, but still keeping a loose connection to it, William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream is chock full of mind control elements.
The reason it is more widespread than people admit is that mind control fetishes are tightly tied into control fetishes. Mind control is, in its own way, uninhibited control over others. It's like bondage of the mind. Anyone who has a control fetish, on either end of that spectrum, could easily develop a mind control fetish as well. At least, that's what I believe.
I have to say, though. On the topic of this guy's art, it reminds me of the western art qualities that I avoid like the plague...
