As much as I love Chitanda Eru, I just cant help but think from watching the series that there is a really good chemistry going on with Hotarou and Irisu. I know they are barely shown together, but it is ONLY in her arc that shows where Hotarou really changed a lot. He became proactive in a case and was the one who took the initiative to solve the mystery, and this is because of Irisu encouraging and convincing him to do so, and what's more surprising is that Hotarou did this willingly, which is something that Chitanda couldnt do and would leave Hotarou in doing it cuz he has no choice but to do it. Still I think that the series should have at shown a good character development instead of just plainly solving cases, because Irisu couldve really be a good plot driver to progress the relationship between Hotarou and Chitanda.
