I only skimmed it, but it seems more like someone wanted the MC to lose. So they got the mafia to kidnap the MC's Race Queen and body swap with her so that he could body swap the MC and throw the race. The MC then outsmarts him and switches back, yadayada their team wins the race still. The other guy escapes with the yakuza, but then they want payment for the help, so they force him to work as a cocktail waitress to pay off the debt.
