How is that even related to mlp anyway, i see no similarity. This is so clearly original creation.

Yes there are male characters, of which three are in regular supporting roles, (one of which is Carrot Cake, another didn't appear until the end of season 2 then promptly moved away at the start of season 3[1]). Contrast this with all the main characters, most of the major supporting characters as well as the lion's share of background/fanon characters being female.

All this adds up to is that canon character pairings are going to tend to be f/f unless you want to involve OCs.
