That was an ending so shitty, the animated series ended with a prophetic tone, that Maya would free the people from the dictator and become free herself to go back to her world.
But the creator found better to degrade her further, go figure. That's a non-ending for me.
It seems really he didn't finished the thing.

@Futa777 Even before that a sequel didn't sound likely. First serialized in 1987 and the latest pages from this 2005 two volume release are from a 1995 tankoubon which was probably first published a year earlier in a serialized monthly comic. https://www.doujinshi.org/search/object/?Q=s&sn=%E5%A5%B4%E9%9A%B7%E6%88%A6%E5%A3%AB%E3%83%9E%E3%83%A4
There was a short 3 part sidestory from 2003-2006 that's been reprinted, but the third volume isn't uploaded and was reprinted last in 2016. That's also the last publication mentioned on the Japanese wiki. https://www.doujinshi.org/book/110205/
So for 8 years the story went nowhere and a sidestory was instead told for 3 years after that. Why would he suddenly continue it over a decade later?
@IIdefk It doesn't really go anywhere and the author does nothing with the interesting setting. It ends up indistinguishable from the hundreds of fallen female knight doujins from this era which are just endless cycles of gangbangs, exhibitionism, humiliation, old men, and enemas. Taira Hajime is another author who recycles the same story endlessly. It's a shame because by the mid 2000s his art had really improved. Unfortunately his tastes seemed to only degenerate. More scat and guro and less yuri or tentacles.
