Oh, so Kokoro got stronger for a while there because of a new emotion(to protect!) that drives her coupled with Sukuna's Lucky Mallet and gaved her miraculous power. That took Hijiri by surprise.
Didn't expect this ending, even though those two were just trying to protect her. Now she wants to live on her own.
