@Barillian I'm guessing this doujin was drawn before last year's fall event. Before then the sinking conditions weren't exactly clear. And even after many proof videos people are still spreading the rumor that ships will sink at orange during the event.
Someone explain to me what's going on at the end? What was that creepy thing with blacked out eyes? I know Kantai Collection is about girls who are also battleships, but I'm still somewhat confused by this doujin. What's with the references to not being able to sink at orange?
@HerpaDerpMan Kantai Collection is about Kantai Musume--fleet girls--fighting the Deep Sea Fleet across the world.. the setting is somewhat similiar with Arpeggio of Blue Steel where human fight againts the Fleet of Fog--which consist of ships that already sank.
about not being able to sink at orange is about how bad the damage of your KanMusu.. yellow is light damage, orange is medium damage, and red is heavy damage.. in Kantai Collection, once your KanMusu HP reach zero, she's /lost forever/--sinking.. but a KanMusu /only/ can sink if at the start of battle her HP is red.. as long as her HP still yellow or orange, she /will not/ sink--she will only have 1 HP left if she got damaged if at the start of battle her HP is still yellow or orange...
about that creepy one with blacked out eyes, /maybe/ she's the Deep Sea Fleet--or something like her alter ego--that change the sinking Murakamo into Deep Sea Vessel...
oh yeah, ep 2 is incoming.. the cover featuring Tenryuu and Tatsuta... XD
scratch orange, you can't even sink at red, as long the kanmusu gets red during the same battle(as in the day battle before the night one), the battle at the next node on the other can totally sink your kanmusu if she goes while red.
@HerpaDerpMan
basically murakumo became the enemy, the "deep sea fleet" haven't really been fleshed out much, but they are, at least according to the official 4koma, born out of "malice", i suppose they likely mean they're born out of the malice/evils of war or something.
also "orange" is the color of "moderately damaged", which is impossible to sink at.
