Come in for a Alice work, end up with a history lesson that reveals a terrible story of what a country may end up doing because of a war. There's quite a bit of research behind this post-war event and while it's a somewhat dark read, it's also very interesting (this doesn't make it any less horrible or depressing when thinking about it).

As soon as i heard the claim that the American GIs were going to rape all of the Japanese women i thought of Okinawa and how the Japanese used to tell that lie to the native people there. As a result when Americans found civilians to rescue or got near a village they would commit suicide rather than be captured. Either that or whatever people were in charge of the shipgirls were too stupid to realize that not everyone rapes everything like the Japanese army.
