That's one of the reasons yaoi happens. Because the characters aren't friends or couple-like or can even stand to be around one another. Characters at odds with one another make p a good chunk of yaoi stuff. Non-con is quite popular in yaoi circles too, and it's pretty accepted that even if a character is the straightest guy, he's actually secretly totally into the buttseks, he's just never tried it.
