I'm sure no one cares, but for Shinonome Ryo's story, on the second page of it (page 138), the "weird" writing there is actual Arabic (although disjointed and written backwards). If you read it from top to bottom, it says (right) تقلى البطاطا "You fry the potato." and (left) لحم الخنزير الخام "Raw pork". I just thought that was interesting.
