It's funny because the boy's name is "Shiro," and from what I remember, Rider couldn't pronounce ShiroU's name correctly, so Shirou just told her to call him "Shiro." ... This might be a TL error and the boy's name might actually be ShiroU, but I think I'm right. Besides, in Sakura's route, Shirou's body gets destroyed, and his soul is put into a puppet body by Touko Aozaki (from Kara no Kyoukai). The puppet body looks like an older version of the usual Shirou, so no, this boy is not Shirou.
