I think it's more of the nature of the character/s within the context of the game. I can't really put a pin on it, but a case that I think is similar is if it was yaoi between the protagonist in Far Cry 3 and Vaas. I'm totally for more gay content of anything, but someone else who may even be into gay stuff might not be able to accept Vaas in that kind of way because of who he is as a character (as in it has nothing to do with *what* the character is be they a dude or some nurse monster).

There should be like an addendum to Rule 34 in which it mentions "... and there will be an audience who will be totally into that."
