According to this 2ch log at http://chibarei.blog.jp/archives/1015005371.html , the commenters say that Kizuki's husband (and yes, this means Kizuki is a woman) had to be hospitalized for some reason so she couldn't work on anything for a while. Another commenter mentions that they were affected in some way by the 2011 earthquake (apparently their pet died?), not sure if this has anything to do with what they're going through now though. According to a comment made on http://dic.nicovideo.jp/a/%E3%81%86%E3%81%A9%E3%82%93%E3%82%84 , it seems that Zan is the one who was hospitalized (incidentally this means that they're a husband and wife doujin group which I did not know about).
