I never understood why, in these sort of things, the victim never tries to break free from the stomach.
They have complete 360 degrees free range of movement, they can freely stab at any organ they want. It's not like they're constricted like, say, within a snake.

Yeah yeah: "This isn't the only thing which slips on logic", I am fully aware I am missing the point. That particular matter is a pet-peeve of mind in that genre.

Considering just how stretchy same-size stomachs are, I think we can safely say either that they're too stretchy or magical. Not to mention that the prey would be quite disoriented being jumbled around in pitch darkness until they can barely tell which way is up. Even if they could see, they can't see through the stomach walls, so they can't target anything in particular.
