Just so you know Ardat-yakshis don't mean futanari in the Asari tongue. It refers to primitive ancestors that the Asari evolve out of that are deeply predatory and semi-sentient or non-sentient, depending on which Asari you ask.

In fact, Asari are a hybrid life form, but if I tell you anymore you probably would deduce nonsense out of what I had further said and it would be contrary to the nostalgic clouded judgement of what Asari actually are.

Just know, they do have something in common with a species from Star Wars that mix with the Banshee Ardat-yakshis to create the Asari, not Togrutas nor Twi'leks, much more human looking from Andromeda. And they aren't uniform in their head tendrils.

This is from a fanfic, but it is very well design and shows Asari and Saiyans living in the same galaxy. If you wish to stem further, they also live in the same Galaxy as klingons and are historically the greatest rivals and nemeses, although that is thousands of years ago and not something they would want you to know off hand.
