What does this question mean? That happens plenty in english works, though it's not like it's mandatory or anything. It's a sub-in for "The End" afaik.

I was and am not under the impression that "Fin" implies anything other than that unless a shark or dolphin-related creature is referenced.

'Fin' means 'The End' in french.

I've seen it used quite often in english works or even japanese works.
