For a little background, the two main characters are both based on the blonde girl on page 1, being the original.
Gagaga Girl (The girl with a dark color scheme) belongs to a card archetype that focuses on XYZ Summon in the game.
Tuning Magician (The girl with the white color scheme) belongs to a card archetype that focusses on Pendulum Summon, however she herself supports Synchro Summon.

The story envisions the two as being in a rivalry due to these summoning types, however they will put aside their differences to confront the 'true enemy'.
