A contemporary of Batman:TAS, SWAT Kats was a good action series with a surprisingly serious direction and theme (mostly); it was a noticeably un-usual entry into the cartoon market from the usually jolly cartoons producers of Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Productions.
It was very sad that, despite its solid fan-base popularity, the show was cancelled incomplete and without a resolutive end. :(

[EDITED]: @The Chronicler...
SWAT Kats stuck in my mind because of the reasons stated above, it was a serious-themed Hanna-Barbera cartoon, set apart from its usual comedy-lot like the Flintstones, the Jetsons, and Scooby Doo (and many, many others). One tends to remember things that stand out (or stand apart) like that. ;)
As for having the series on DVD, the answer is "No, I do not have it." On the other hand, if I ever came across a "SWAT Kats Complete Series" DVD collection on the shelves of my local store(s) by store-browsing chance..? I would find myself sitting in my car, with the DVD collection in-bag and purchase receipt in-hand, before my conscious mind caught-up with a, "WTF just happened...?". ;D .

^ Dude, what? I loved the show myself but I barely remember the characters, let alone enough of it to produce what appears to be a summary analysis...... Dude, do you have the show on DVD? Can I borrow it?
