Different cultures, different perceptions on religion.

The historical record on it is janky as hell (no thanks to Japan's isolationist period) but human sacrifice in Japan was fairly common as recent as the 16th century. (There are so few records, a joke among historians is that some corpses weren't human sacrifice, just well hidden murder victims)

1. Suwako wondered why the waters (society) were tainted.
2. Frogs (People) became sentient
3. Suwako became the frog's god.
4. The oracle leader unnecessarily did two sacrifices
5. Suwako realized that she was just used by the oracle.
6. Oracle got Misaguji'd.
7. Suwako regretted killing every frogs she put a lot of effort on growing.

So the moral of the story is, never trust a leader who uses god's edict and a shallow understanding of his religion as a means of politic.
