I don't use filters lol. It's just leveled is all. More cropping, yes, I agree that's one of the things I think that the other scans has that is better.

comparing both, this one has more cropping, was filtered and saved in png format
the other one is more raw than this one and some of the pages have bleeding through from pages on the other side
