Nice title. Doesn't seem to relate well to the translation though, besides the whole turned into a girl thing, but maybe you've not typeset the bit with the actual fountain made from a human's chest? Anyways, it's a nice read. Enjoyable, even, especially when you focus on the interactions between the vampire and the guy and how he slowly gets influenced by his new body.

Edit: I see. Well, good luck!

Seeing that there are a lot less errors this time around, I guess that confirms that a lot of the mistakes in part 1 are the result of the mangaka removing words to make everything fit.

At first I thought they were going to suggest that Douglas was in love with Ashton, but it feels more like a brotherly love. I still can't completely rule out that option of closet love, Ashton looked like a girl with his hair and Douglas was watching over him as such when they were young.

It's too much to add Douglas to the harem, this isn't THAT kind of story, either-
Ashton will kill Douglas to protect Giselle,
or
Giselle will kill Douglas to protect Ashton.
I'm placing my bets that Ashton will kill Douglas to show how love/loyalty/how bad his Stockholm syndrome. The fact that we're hearing about Douglas now means Ashton was NEVER serious about his friendship.

This Douglas story really packs a punch.

It would have been easy to portray him as someone who
doesn't understand or is unwilling to see things from
Ashton's point of view. Instead he listens carefully to
his friend and sheds a bright light on how Ashton has
been manipulated.

Even though Ashton long gave up on himself Douglas
refuses to do the same and promises that there is
still a place for him back in the village. He sees his
friend lost in darkness and reminds him there is hope,
a way out. That's what a real friend is.

You can't blame him for wanting to forcefully remove
Ashton from that place. He is convinced that Ashton is
no longer capable of acting of his own free will and he's
not wrong.

The update and conversations between Douglas and Ashton is kinda telling actually. Ashton never believed he could live up to his father or the town and this is baked into his mind since he was a kid. He wouldn't have had much of purpose in life if he killed Giselle and less so now. However Giselle accepted him since day 1. Ashton talking to Douglas showed me that Ashton is more of a kid searching for a place to belong or the love of a parent than the inner monologue or narrator lets on. Giselle and her castle fills that role as more of the mom and her home despite their appearances being swapped, Giselle looking like a kid and Ashton looking like a mom.

I think Douglas is kidding himself thinking the town would accept him coming back as a busty woman. He'll go back and either do back breaking farm work or be a prostitute in their time.
Honestly Ashton has it good for the most part, most so than most princesses or queens in this middle ages like world. Think about it.
He's protected by a army of bats and an all-powerful immortal being.
He's clothed, feed and sheltered.
He's not chained up or locked up.
He gets bathed and loved.
All he has to do is be a babysitter/guide/wet nurse, many women would kill for this role in any timeline.

Ashton lied about draining his "blood" for Giselle and that's what made the conversation start to spiral downward because Douglas himself thought the story doesn't add up. Ashton didn't consider what Giselle will do after he is gone, the only way I can see their bond continuing is if Ashton get Giselle's blood and she becomes some kind of quasi immortal. Pointing the gun at Douglas is symbolic, doesn't matter if Ashton pulls the trigger or not, Ashton has no reason to "go back".

Well, that updated stop point seemed like an obvious eventuality to me. I mean, Ashton has a nice life and has little reason to leave while Douglas, despite his good point, isn't fully considering Ashton's position. He is trying to do what is best for Ashton, but if Ashton had a hard life in town, going back as a female won't help considering Ashton would just be labelled a monster and shunned at best. Killed or worse being most likely. I doubt that it would have made a difference if he was completely honest instead of changing the words. It would just be another path to the same point.

Giselle has always been a childish, innocent character who wanted to love, but never could because her idea of love was dangerous to those she loved. Despite her actions, she really seems to be a case of innocent evil.

I got a little something extra for y'all. During the proofreading, I noticed that Ashton's ring rolls away as he carries Douglas away (page 117), but he's seen wearing a ring on page 130. So I asked Limon to ask Kouji if it was the same ring. This was the reply they gave us.

"Regarding Goat's question: the ring that Ashton wears after he becomes a vampire is no more than a simple part of his fashion's design. The ring from his father, which Douglas dropped on the ground on page 114, was taken out as trash by the bats as neither Ashton nor Giselle showed any particular interest in it. Ashton had given the ring to Douglas hoping that he would "hold true to his kind soul forever". However, Douglas' straightforward kindliness backfired on him as Ashton had already become completely infatuated with Giselle, who returned his feelings."

Damn, that's cold. :(

I originally liked this story about the battle of wits between an possibly ancient vampire and a hunter turned woman (and the adult stuff), but in the end I ended up doing a complete 180. I can understand the reasoning behind it all, the fact that her mind has been warped by being alone with this Giselle for so long and the constant repeating scenarios eventually changing his wants around, but I don't like it at all. It ruined the story for me. Thats not to say its not good anymore, if anyone still likes it fine, but for me I despise that ending as in the end nothing is sorted out as in fact things are worse now.

Humans are weak and vampires or anything else will always be stronger than them and never be beaten. They will always win somehow. Humans are worthless things that can't do anything while vampires, or whatever else, are the best and can do anything and will always corrupt the MC without any other outcome present. I really don't like that kind of portrayal. Even something weak can take down something stronger, either in numbers or some other method. Heck having enough of a strong enough will or drive can be the saving grace. But the casual discard of the past friendship with this guy is just grating. Even if Ashton's mind was warped or whatever he should have at least some semblence of friendship about it, and even begin to realise things are going out of hand. The firend could still die but it cause a change or something that gets the story going somewhere else.

I guess its more the trope I dislike rather than the story. A 'horror' story usually only ends in two ways; 1. The MC wins and all is fine (maybe a hint at the big bad is still alive but mostly good end overall) or 2. The big bad wins and its either back to business as usual or its worse. I mean surely there are more and better ways of doing that kind of story. Ah well I'm jsut rambling on now so I'll just end it here :p.

Tl;DR I Liked it at the start but the ending ruined it for me.

The long story.
Douglas didn't deserve that, his only "crime" was being too nice. He didn't leave a friend behind the way the town abandoned his father way back when, and that's his thanks. I get it, Douglas almost definitely wasn't going back to town empty handed, but Ashton didn't exhaust all the options. Think about what happened.
- Ashton is a trained hunter and Douglas is a farmer. Ashton disarmed and took down Douglas even after months out of practice.
- Douglas didn't want to hurt anyone, he wasn't going to shoot a woman and he wasn't going to shoot a friend so Ashton had more plot armor than Giselle ever had.
- Ashton could have fired a warning shot, or shot his arm, or just pointed the gun and threatened him to leave.
- Douglas was weaponless and defenseless on the ground trying to get up, he may as well have been executed.
- He never threatened Giselle, he was very understanding and reasonable about the entire thing except from maybe trying to force Ashton out of the castle.
All the guy wanted was his old friend back.
They didn't even wrestle for the gun and it just "went off" like they show in TV or movies to show a metaphorical 'conflict or impasse of believes', Ashton had all the advantages and didn't give a second thought to wipe out his only friend from childhood knowing how much he cared about him.
It wasn't even a heat of the moment thing. Like I said before Ashton is kid like, and the tears he shed before shooting Douglas was more like child's temper tantrum than tears of remorse. Douglas was the last tether to Ashton's old life, and Douglas getting shot showed how easy it was to snip that cord on his old life.
One thing I feared was Ashton would care so little for Douglas that Ashton would offer Douglas's corpse or drain his blood to Giselle to dine on. Can't say what he actually did was a step up, trashing Giselle's blood stash to hide the corpse's scent.

Ashton became a bigger monster than Giselle ever was, at least she waited for people to come to trespass on her castle or fed on animals. I guess because Ashton has a bigger body he needs to eat more? He's so far gone at the end he doesn't see he pushed his pain on to other children like he suffered in his childhood, in a weird way Ashton spares some kids that don't survive that pain he once suffered by killing them, which by defect makes a continuously bigger monster. I kinda get it Ashton obliterated his town because deep down he hated that place and now he doing crowd control on the world, which could be seen as a good or bad thing, at their speed, that world will have a slim chance of leaving or evolving past the dark/middle ages. Even if everyone went across the world, they would be chased because the vampires go where "the food" is and cattle or animals can't seem to satisfy Ashton the way it did Giselle. They might have stood a chance if the towns banded together and came to the castle in machetes and torches to cut off their limbs and burn them like Ashton planned before, but I didn't catch it if vampire had super speed to go with their strength, then numbers wouldn't have mattered much. By the end most of the men nearby seemed gone and the majority of the near by towns consisted of women and children that were too weak, too scared and too unorganized to plan any kind of assault. Whether or not it was planned by Ashton to take out as many men as possible so there would be little opposition, or if he ate up the majority of men then went on to women and children I guess we'll never be 100% sure. Perhaps Ashton only eating humans to symbolize his hated and weakness for any humanity left within himself or humanity in general. All this pain because Ashton finally found a place of happiness. I could understand, if Ashton was wronged all his life, and to some degree or in some parts he was, but this happiness he found was build on lies, manipulation, deceit and other mind games. Still, I can't say their relationship is awful, just tragic.

It would have been easy to make Ashton become more girly and tomboy-ish as time passed, but it was important that his personality remained so he could become less of himself and more of what Giselle wanted him to be. I loved how this was showed not only by his body changing but his clothes as time passed. One could say that their encounter was inevitable or fate, Ashton obsessed over facing Giselle almost all his life and Giselle sort of planned for years for Ashton to come at her door step, their obsessions for each other become infatuations and literally starving for each other in certain points. Sure they are monsters, but genetically speaking, they are the superior race and the humans are simply "below" them on the food chain.

@Hybridwolf

It's *his* mind. Giselle changed Ashton's sex, but he is still a man. In this story, Ashton is referred to as a woman only by people who do not know who he is, such as Douglas or the children in part 2. There is a tiny bit of fluctuation in Kouji's use of pronouns, but even in the Japanese version, Ashton refers to himself as a man pretty exclusively throughout the story, all the way to the end.

Gender identity is an element of the mind; the awareness that you are a man or a woman is wired into you, and Giselle did not magically change that. The only changes she imposed onto his mind came from her ongoing abuse and manipulation, which left him completely wrapped around her finger by the end of part 1. Most TG stories tend to ignore gender identity completely; the character's sex is changed, and they just automatically start referring to them self as the opposite gender. But, as someone with a lot of friends who are transgender, I don't believe someone would actually do that in this situation. Very few TG-themed stories really pay any attention to gender identity like this one does, let alone focus the story on it.

Ones that actually do, like Girl Reborn or Shishunki Bitter Change? Those are very rare, unfortunately. :(

Well that turned a lot more morbid very quickly. It's darkly ironic that Ashton turned into a far greater monster than the one he originally set out to hunt. And to further the irony it was poor Douglas, who set out to rescue his friend, who ended up cementing him on this path.

That said, though I enjoyed the story, the abrupt "and then Ashton didn't give a shit and became a vampire serial killer" was a bit off putting. Even if that was the direction the author wanted to go, I feel like it would have been better to draw the progression out a bit more. Have Ashton actually deal with the whole "shot my best friend" thing before taking refuge in "I'll become a vampire like Giselle and not care about the humans."

The whole "humans are only food and nothing else" seems a bit farcical given that Giselle fell in love with a number of men in the first place. If humans are nothing but food to vampires, how would that happen in the first instance, and why would she care to correct it? Plus, it seems like the whole "lactating milk" is already a perfect no-murder feeding solution. Just kidnap people from or take over the village, and use your vampire magic to turn everyone into a milk-bag and voila.

Though I suppose that could just be Ashton's warped take on being a vampire. If he has decided to completely turn away from his past (to the point of cold-heartedly killing his best friend) and care only about Giselle it would make sense that he justifies it with "humans are nothing but food." And there's no point in putting effort to preserve the calves' lives if you can just murderize them with the same results.

Though I can't help but wish for a sequel with the descendants of the village survivors coming back to confront the vampires (and being bad ass enough to avoid getting slaughtered off hand.)

That isn't correct. Giselle wasn't able to survive on Ashton's milk alone, before he became a vampire and ate people. When he was just a regular human, she needed to supplement his milk with blood from wild animals.

You're assuming I meant 1 human to 1 vampire, which isn't the case. If the only problems are insufficient nutrition and limited quantities (which the narration explicitly states are the advantages that milk derived from blood has), then bulk production solves both of those issues. Especially since vampires clearly don't have to worry about the dangers of overeating with their superior biology.
