The files are extremely bloated. You can recompress black and white pages into PNG (first trim black/white levels by a few % to remove JPG artifacts) to return it to its original 2-color halftone format.

Results:
1 JPG (unmodified) + 129 PNG (2 color b/w) = 92.9MB (99.994% size reduction, lossless)
