It's always so disappointing to see how incest hentai seem to miss the point and just RUSH into it nowaday.

To me, incest should be all about the taboo and a relationship based on familiarity and common interactions slowly turning toward something "inappropriate".
It's the intentional sexualisation of common interactions and a relationship based on statu-quo that makes it hot.

But nowaday a lot of incest plot just jump straight into it, and i think it's completely missing the point.

Here's our setting:
-A son and his mom end-up stranded alone on a island.

Already it's a good start and I've seen other stories start like that, because it offer a obvious progression in their relationship.
They'd need to start adapting to survival, after a while sexual tensions would naturally come to play as a basic instinct, and since social-norms wouldn't be applied there, they'd have no-reasons to not cross the line beside personal morales.
That's a great setup, but somehow it's very often completely wasted.

Now here's how 99% of incest hentais miss the mark:
-they immediately jump into sex, the mom herself just propose it, and minus the dialogues, it's just MILF hentai.

I think the best incest stories involve a slow progression toward acceptance, passively seeking it, and finally actively seeking it, with a good dose of "common familial situations" turning sexual.
A good exemples of two authors who does it right are Haitoku-Sensei and Circle-Spice.

Their stories generally involve a normal relationship between a mother and her son, reluctantly accepting some form of sexual relationship with their son under strict limitations, only for theses specific limitations to get slowly pushed back as their usual lifestyle is slowly getting perverted.

At first they have at most handjobs in the bedroom, then it become blowjobs on the toilet, then penetration in the mother's room as a a way to express they've become actual lovers at this point, then it's hardcore sex all over the godamn house while cooking, eating, or even cleaning whenever someone get horny.

But you can't exactly pervert a relationships and common-situations like that if you start immediately with embraced depravity.

By the way, I'm specifically taking the example of mother/son porn here because that was the context, but this apply to any type of incest.

Anyway, this was my ted-talk on why a lot of authors seem to miss the point of incest porn.

@RabidTanker because I don't have a "big issue", I simply think a lot of artists are misusing the genre.

And unless I'd commission like 5000 artists just to drown the market to change the average standards, I don't see how commissioning a piece would change anything.
