I believe the text was taken from a lower res, AI upscaled and applied to the high res uncensored pages. Doesn't look great but other than doing a OCR or redoing all the text by hand there's not much one can do.

Hi ZaT0! I see this is your firs upload. Don't get discouraged by harsh criticism. Everyone makes mistakes especially in the beginning. Next time, try experimenting with quality on one page, before you save a bunch of files. Also, I suggest using PNG instead of JPG for this kind of a thing (merging). Better luck next time!

Hi, thx for encouragements. Criticism is okay, some people are more demanding than others, but I'm not one of those. And at first, I did this decensor just for me,I didn't intend to release it publicly, but ultimately it was a stupid to just sit on it like that.

The release is that way because I choose speed over quality, I took all the english versions, upscaled them with SD to match uncensored version which was around 1280x1800 ish on CN version so I can clone uncensored part on the already translated version, that's why I took me only few hours.That's why some chapters seems to have a lower resolution and text look a bit shitty, it have been upscaled via SD, and SD distord text in a shitty way, but I considered those problems minor so I overlooked them. Also, rewrite the whole thing on a decensored version take way way longer, and I didn't find the effort was justified considering the options I had. If someone want to do it, I'll cheers for them, but don't expect a better version from me.

Thx for the tips about format, I tried that on my last release. I tend to use mechanically jpg because it's drawing, and you don't need as much details as for a photo that might justify more PNG use, but maybe I'm wrong.

Anyway, I'm not planning to do a lot of releases, just some of stuff I like and that's it.

EDIT: I also just discovered painfully that releases on the gallery are usually 1280x1817 while their torrent version have higher resolution, which, I didn't knew...

The point of contention is your use of SD. The file format is a smaller thing. AI upscaling is still developing. One day this technology will probably render amazing results.

Now that you wrote this explanation I have a better insight into your thought process. Maybe you should rename the gallery and mention it was upscaled with AI, so people won’t feel cheated? Let me make a petition.

As for the formats, there’s nothing wrong with JPG. My logic behind preferring PNG is that every time you save over to a JPG you lose some detail because of compression, and when you merge 2 files that are already compressed you’re already starting with a lowered point of detail, why lower it any further? Of course all of this depends on case by case settings and levels of compression, I’m making broad generalizations.

Ok thx that's a nice prop,also you should specify it actually only affect ch 1 & 2, other chapters where downscaled of few pixels for equalization.

I'll make tries if I work on another project, and I'll see. But I'm not fan of PNG since it's heavy, and in a fair amount of case of use, not that worth it.

I have never seen halftones get destroyed like that, even when AI was used... whatever, point is to not try resize the decensor original, touch them the less possible. Just take the english version, upscale it to the decensor size, then use masks to paste the text in the decensored version. As for the rest use png or jpeg max quality, and add the covers which are literally great
