The nation of [REDACTED] recently adopted the BRIG initiative following an explosion of crime, lawlessness, and general apathy. Things reached a tipping point, and it was determined in court that criminals would be considered to have all of their rights revoked - even their human rights. In this way, the government hoped to deter would-be crooks.

Initially, all male criminals were sent to the mines, to the foundries, to the forests - to the heartland of [REDACTED]'s industry. Turns out, having a free labor force that can be motivated to work by any means necessary can really boost the economy! Working overtime, the indentured workforce began the arduous task of turning the nation's fortunes around.

Of course, using women as a physical workforce was doomed to failure. As such, an enterprising minister had a brilliant idea - rather than using female criminals to boost the economy, why not use them to lower the crime rate? By making a savage example of them, he argued that the odds of anyone else offending would be drastically lowered. His argument rung true, and a new government agency was founded with the stated goal of maximizing the suffering of female criminals. Within a few short months construction crews broke ground for the first BRIG facility, and within a few years you get our friend Hana's story up above.

Great entry! My only complaint would be Hana is much too deserving. A wrongly accused and imprisoned inmate would be nice too!
