first of all, I'm sorry, This is my first translated work that I'm translating for my own to read,
you're right my eng and jp are pretty bad I'm Thai and I use Google Translate a lot.
If my translation is ruining Alfre Tori's work I'm so sorry,
from now I'll only translate for my own to read and not publish it anymore.
I'll study jp more
Oh That "coll adventurer" and "idle self" are my misspellings, sorry either
and one day I hope this series gets a proper translation

This looks like it was done by someone that doesn't actually know English. I'd say outright machine translated, but that wouldn't explain mistakes like "coll adventurer" and "idle self".
You've also taken the part where it explains that what is written in kanji should be read as "Evil Class" and translated both that part and the kanji as "Magic Jobs" as if it was saying "Evil Class Magic Jobs", which you then continually use "Magic Job" rather than the intended reading each time it comes up later, except for the times you instead call it "Demon Job" with the inconsistency even coming up on the same page at times.

I agree translation is stiff, but it is nice to see the first step to get this series in English.

If you think you can do a better job translating then do it yourself, there are 8 more in the series.

I know my work on translations would be pretty damn bad, my Japanese is sketchy as hell given that it's all self taught in my spare time. And given that one chapter is only up on here in Chinese and Korean, which I have exactly 0 knowledge of, that would be even worse. I AM doing a better job precisely because I'm NOT touching it and ruining it by way of incompetence. Even if I were to attempt it, I certainly wouldn't do it alone. I'd have someone double check for mistakes in the translation, or handle the translation part themselves if they had more experience, while focusing more on accuracy and consistency on the English side of things as that's where my strong point would be.

Translation quality aside, I really liked it. Hope the rest of the series gets translated someday.

Honestly doesn't look like AI TL to me. Just seems like somewhat amateur-ish ESL translation, which I honestly don't really mind.

The real problem with low quality translations is that, in the long term, they decrease the likelihood of a work being translated in decent quality.

When people are looking for things to translate, they usually overlook ones that already exist, regardless of quality. It's not like they're dipping into every tl to make sure it's actually good.

Similarly, it decreases the likelihood of sequels getting translated. If a translator see chapter 1 was already translated, it's a reasonable assumption the same group will do chapter 2, so they pass over it.

I know your a bit demotivated by these comments. But I am for one grateful for any English translation of these works. This artists work is fairly hot to me so I greatly appreciate a vague idea of what's going on.

I was considering translating this series but as someone both not great at redrawing or typesetting, and *also* not getting paid to do so I let it sit. Seeing low-quality translations like this that don't even have editing that openly admit to being ESL MTL is so discouraging. Please just pay an actual translator to do their job instead of making everyone disappointed in the future. If you're passionate about translation and excited to do so yourself, just start learning the language properly. It's not hard! I promise that if you put your mind to it, you can learn a new language in like under three months.

I don't really meant this to be inflammatory or mean, but so often I see stuff happen like this that's actively discouraging, so it doubly sucks to see it on a series that I had a passing interest in working on.

At the *VERY* least please understand the name of the shop is "Succulana" (サ=キュラナ) a pun involving the word succubus. The other shop's name is literally "other shop" (yoso tana (ヨソタナ(他所店))) as an aside.

Please give me more suggestions!!!!
You can tell me all about which part is bad because I don't know and I wanna know more about which part is bad.
And again I'm so deeply sorry that I did a terrible translation and left it a long-term problem for this series.
I'm so sorry from the deep in my heart

I promise I'm gonna study Japanese more and more, I'll live there in the future anyway.
This is my "learn from one's mistake" and it was a big mistake

It's not just your Japanese that needs more work. Native English speakers react more negatively to poorly worded English than poorly translated Japanese. The easiest way to fix this is to find a native English speaker (preferably one that enjoys reading and writing) and go over each sentence and paragraph you translate on a case-by-case basis to make sure that what you create both makes grammatical sense and flows well; meaning that there aren't any awkwardly worded sentences that are hard to read in a way that makes sense. This can only really be fixed through experience with the language, since English has no set rules and is ever changing and evolving.

The importance in good English skills cannot be understated when translating from Japanese to English. This is because the way words and ideas are arranged grammatically in both languages are so different that you aren't just translating the sentences and paragraphs themselves; you are creating new ones entirely using the ideas drawn from the Japanese text as a guidelines. If your English language skills are poor (usually from a lack of experience either reading or writing in English) then the resultant translation you create will also be poor, regardless of how well you understand the nuances of the Japanese language.

The awkwardly phrased writing that results from the process of translating a work (regardless of whether it's machine assisted or not) literally from Japanese will be judged harshly by others, while translations with well worded English, also regardless of if it's machine assisted or not, are more well received. This, however, is not an endorsement of machine translated works, it's just anecdotal evidence I've observed on this website.

In all, both your Japanese and English skills need more work, but what you should learn from this is that you need someone to check over your work before you post it. Both someone who's more proficient than you in Japanese, and someone who can natively speak English. Don't let this discourage you, however. Fluency in both these languages is very hard. With enough time and persistence, I know you can prevail in your efforts.
