It really sucks that RWBY's creator is no longer with us. Rest In Peace Monty Oum.

Wow, this is fascinating. A mature take on RWBY that follows the story in a sense and makes plausible hypthesis based on character relationships and song lyrics. This may be a fanfiction, but this is great. I always had a theory on what makes a fanfiction good or bad. A good fanfiction can seamlessly intergrate into the original story and make it even better than what it is, and I have to say, this makes sense, is very likely and plausible, and makes my interest spike up a few levels.

Not to mention, I love Ruby's new appearance. She's got this mature, melancholic air about her, and the way her ponytail dangles or floats after she zooms past the enemy... <3

The translation could use some work, but it's still a good read. It's neat to see such a light-hearted show become this super dark and depressing story, but it works surprisingly well. I thought it was super long at 300 pages, but now that I finished it, I find myself wanting even more.

Also, this artist is great, except when it comes to a profile view. He should really stick to any other view, since he's got those down pat.

Wow, that was amazing. This is second time in my life when I found fanfic that I rate better than original series. Really good work. Waiting for more

Rest in peace, Monty Oum.

I came here for porn and ended up readin 300 pages of ... well, this is probably far from the definition of noir, but it makes me feel the same way.
And I have no regrets about it.
Also it made me think: no matter what the official continuation would end up like (though I've heard Monty Oum left behind plans for seasons to come, so it should be as close to what he would have done himself as possible), at least there's this manga and even if different in it's tone, it is a worthy continuation for RWBY, so Monty Oum can rest in peace.

Why is this marked English Translated?
Its not Translated, its written in English by the Taiwanese artist who speaks Chinese. Seriously, read her pixiv.

@krudda

It is translated by him into English, but the basic version is in Chinese. I was planning to post even the original version but I can not find the first few chapters. Maybe you're right, he began to write in English. However I find it a particularly insignificant, plus he calls his English as "basic", certainly better than mine.

I'm not all that fond of this, actually. I feel like too much background history is thrust in too quickly, and there's this sense of rushed character development - a common problem when a writer tries to modify characters in the unseen portions of a timeskip. Plus, I feel like the supposed source of Grimm in this story doesn't do the mysterious Grimm in canon justice. In canon, the Grimm are scary and interesting, in large part due to their mystery; they kill humans for no apparent reason, and hunt down everything that man makes with a passion that is incomprehensible. In this story, their origin is neatly tied off within the first arc. To be frank, it makes them boring - like reducing vampires to a type of virus or parasite, the explanation leaves them less than they were.

That being said, it's better than a lot of the crap out there. There's very few good fanworks when it comes to Rwby, so I'm glad to see more, even if it's not to my taste.
